Ingredients

  • Potatoes3 medium
  • Onion0.5 medium
  • Olive Oil2 tbsp
  • Soy Sauce2 tbsp
  • Garlic(optional)1 clove
  • Salt0.5 tsp

Instructions

  1. 1

Peel the potatoes and onion. Grate them finely using a hand grater or food processor.

  2. 2

Place the grated mixture into a fine-mesh strainer over a bowl. Press out as much liquid as possible. Let the liquid sit for 5 minutes.

  3. 3

Carefully pour off the water from the bowl, leaving behind the white potato starch that has settled at the bottom.

  4. 4

Mix the grated potato, onion, starch, and salt back together in the bowl.

  5. 5

Heat olive oil in a non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Spread the mixture into thin, round pancakes.

  6. 6

Fry for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.

  7. 7

Combine soy sauce and minced garlic (optional) for a dipping sauce.
