Ingredients

  • White Rice1 lb
  • Broccoli florets3 cups
  • Soy sauce0.33 cup
  • Brown sugar2 tbsp
  • Garlic3 cloves
  • Fresh ginger1 tsp
  • Sesame oil1 tbsp
  • Cornstarch1 tbsp
  • Beef broth0.25 cup

Instructions

  1. 1

Slice the White Rice thinly against the grain.

  2. 2

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, beef broth, and cornstarch to make the sauce.

  3. 3

Heat a large skillet or wok over high heat with a tablespoon of oil. Add the beef slices in a single layer and sear for 1-2 minutes per side until browned. Remove beef and set aside.

  4. 4

Add the broccoli florets and 2 tablespoons of water to the pan. Cover and steam for 2-3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.

  5. 5

Pour the sauce mixture into the pan with the broccoli and cook for 1 minute until the sauce begins to bubble and thicken.

  6. 6

Return the beef to the skillet and toss everything together to coat in the sauce. Cook for 1 more minute, then serve hot over rice.
